I'm Lost
Thursday Mar 31, 2016
Thursday Mar 31, 2016
Fredericks Foundscape #4. This time I've combined the sounds of birds, my van, phone messages, air travel (including crying babies) and some IRS on-hold music.

Not Gonna Happen
Saturday Mar 19, 2016
Saturday Mar 19, 2016
As a fan of the surreal, I must say these are interesting times. I took sounds and voices from my everyday life and mixed them with what the media is feeding me. Combined, the result is rather nightmarish. I hope you enjoy.
The story goes... Not trying to be a jerk. Coming undone. Jesus is the answer. Will you please hang up.
I'm afraid. It should frighten us all. Hurt her/Don't hurt her. Palin hip-hops. Not gonna happen.

We Could Be Stupid
Monday Feb 29, 2016
Monday Feb 29, 2016
February caught me up short. So, this episode got a little rushed. I've tried not to pay too much attention to the competitive interviewing process currently going on. But, I've not been having too much success, as you will hear.
Attention. An inattentive driver reminds me of Donald Trump. Marco Rubio removes his gloves. Drunk Reagan.
Someone attack me please. Magical thinking. Competitive interviewing. Ted Cruz: Basket Case. Stupid.
Donald doesn't know. Marco does stand up.
Thanks go to Rob Lorei host of Radioactivity on WMNF (he's on every weekday at 11 AM EST.) CNN, and Youtube for the clips.

Fredericks Foundscape #3:
About the bag. Lotta things coming into your mind, right now. What's that smell? Miles Davis skipping.
Imaginary Symphony and Choir. Morning birds. Bring me my gun. Hello? Miles skips out.

Whole New Thing: Maniac Mix
Sunday Jan 31, 2016
Sunday Jan 31, 2016
This is the second Fredericks Foundscape. I am hoping to make them a monthly feature. This episode features ambient sounds combined with material provided by The Free Music Archive, the presidential debates, telephone messages and my theremin.
Orwellian universe (Free Matter for the Blind Volume 4). "Strange" Dave from Knoxville. Martin O'Malley/Hillary Clinton: Why.
Dryer and theremin symphony. Airport transportation. Emergency sirens. Ted Cruz.
Sounds of morning birds and traffic. I'm a maniac/I'm a fly.

Fredericks does Art Humor
Swept up in the nostalgic sentiments of the season, I revisited an old Skype chat and plucked some stuff and ran it through the remix machine.
Sarah, Kormodd, Stan, P.C. Mike, Dougald, Brian,
Happy A.P. Mike's birthday! (How happy is he?)
Wasn't really a joke.

Fear Itself
Sunday Dec 13, 2015
Sunday Dec 13, 2015
Fear, terror, phobia however you describe it seems like many people are caught up in its grip. Thanks to Trump's tongue and ISIS' actions, I haven't been able stop thinking about the effects of fear. I almost used parts of a previous podcast, but there was no need. I found fear nearly everywhere I turned.
Should we be afraid of....? War on terror: they're doing it on purpose. New America statistics with updates.
"Do You Understand?" featuring Alex Jones. A new party?
Misinformation on Parade (includes ISIS, Ebola, Jade Helm, Vaccines, Artificial intelligence).
The Trump solution: kill. Maranatha.
Satan work is slick. Simplistic solution: Guns! Blow up an asteroid. Edward R. Murrow. F.D.R.: Fear Itself.

Comprehensive Substitute Truth
Monday Nov 23, 2015
Monday Nov 23, 2015
An impressionistic audio piece expressing an individual response to the presidential debates. I almost called this episode Get on the stick and mess around. Because that's what I did.
Doctor Carson: pathological child-molester? Get on the stick and mess around. Not supposed to be like this.
Bernie! Rand Paul and Jeb Bush get fired. Donald Trump faked the moon landing. Obama's legacy.
Pot smoking socialist. Martin O'Malley: truck driving loser. Trump takes the mic. The American dream is stupid.
Exercise Hillary. Comprehensive substitute truth. Bernie talks. Hillary on Wall Street. The Big Lie.

Robots and Tech Troubles
Saturday Oct 31, 2015
Saturday Oct 31, 2015
Inspired by a confluence of news articles and automated phones calls I decided to put technology to the test (Turing to be precise).
Volkswagen robot kills co-worker. Musk, Hawking & Wozniak warning. Robotophilia.
Amanda takes the Turing test. Jane gets her chance. I didn't catch the winner's name.
Tech troubles and the robotic people who address them. This is not a sales call.

Percepetition
Tuesday Sep 29, 2015
Tuesday Sep 29, 2015
This episode, number one hundred, examines auditory illusions. First focusing on the affect repetition has on what we perceive. Shepard's Paradox is one weird phenomena and shows up far more frequently than you might realize.
WillOldman(thanks to Acapela Group) Congratulations and a questions. Repetition and perception.
What do you hear? (Featuring Clay Pigeon -Dusty Show WFMU)
Neuroscience and Buddhism (Quartz magazine article by Olivia Goldhill)
Shepard's Paradox. Knowledge is not enough. You can't (always) believe what you perceive.
